Default Blackberry 9630 Tour

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BB 9630 tour that hung/frozen on the main screen.
It is password protected. I enter my password but the screen remains the same. I try the menu button, the back button nothing happens.
I can't get to the main screen where I have all my icons. Its not responding to any buttons.
I've already removed battery more than 5 times but no luck.

Anyone has any suggestions?

When you do a battery pull, do it with the power on, and wait at least 30 seconds. Did you do that? And it booted up but you still can't unlock it? Is that essentially the situation? And if so, do you see anything being entered when you type your password in the window? How far do you get while things seem to be doing the way they're supposed to be doing?

yeah I'm pulling the battery while the device is on. I wait for 30 seconds it boots up but its still lock. It lets me enter my password, it displays asteriks when i'm typing my password. I hit unlock but then it does nothing. It just stays locked and then nothing works.

Did you get it wet, even expose it to a little moisture such as a sweaty pocket? Drop it?

If you are clicking on unlock, what happens if you press the return key instead?

Didn't get it wet not even the slightest moisture. Haven't dropped it either.
It doesn't respond to any buttons I press..

Ok. Neither clicking on the button on the screen nor pressing the return key works....

You probably have OS 4.6 or newer, correct? If so, see if you can boot in safe mode. If you don't know how, see KB17877-How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode.

If you are able to boot in safe mode, see if you can unlock the device.

EDIT: Where I'm going with this, is the assumption that if it is some software corruption, you may be able to unlock it in safe mode. And if so that is an indication that it is a software glitch. The question then will be what third-party apps you may have installed, or third-party themes. While in safe mode you will want to do a full backup and then uninstall those third-party items that are suspect, and then try booting up in regular mode and unlocking. If that fails, you can try deleting some other stuff and try again, or just decide at that point to wipe with JL_CMDER and then reinstall the OS. But if you can backup in safe mode, by all means do a full backup first thing.
