Default Blackberry Curve overheating and draining battery quick? Please help?

Please Login to Remove!

Every now and then, like maybe 3 of the last 6-7 days. My Phone would get really warm, definably doesn't feel normal. And 100% full battery would go to 10% in a matter of 40-60min's.

When I notice this I do an immediate battery pull. And it seams to work for a bit when I do that. It's just started doing this. Have had phone for about 6-7 months now, problem's free.

I will be calling the company I bought the phone off of tomorrow. What should I say to them? I also have a custom face plate. Would that void a warranty if there is one? As I type this message, i'm updating my BB. You think that would have any effect?

Thanks.

I charge my phone overnight, and when I get up in the morning I noticed a problem very similar to yours. I would do a battery pull and it would be OK for awhile, but a day or two latter it would happen again. I finally tried a new battery and it has not happened since. Good luck, I hope thats all that's wrong with yours too.

Are your batteries original? and what network do you use, 2G network, 3G network, or even 4G netword? And how many apps do you use?

Yuh that's exactly what's happening. I fully charge it at my bedside. Wake up, and then look at phone 30-40 min's later, it's mad hot, and battery will be 10%. But If I do a battery pull after I unplug phone from charger before using, it looks like it works.

Gunna get a new battery. Thanks.

The battery may be defective or the charger is over charging the battery. If you'r using the wall charger try the data cord plugged into a PC. If you see the same problem it's the battery. If the problem goes away then replace the charger.
