Question Migrating BB users cross platform ?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

is it possible, using RIM tooling, to migrate users from Exchange to Domino without wiping the device ?

The BB Transporter tool van migrate users on the same platform from ServerA to ServerB without a device-wipe. But this tool cannot migrate cross platform.

There is a tool form Binary who can do the trick thay say, but if you look at the procedure, you still can see the remote wipe !!!

R.

Rim does have much information on their site to support this.
One offering.

KB17845-Moving users from a BlackBerry Enterprise Server Exchange Domain to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server IBM Lotus Domino Domain

I read links indicating there are methods but I will say they never did indicate if the BB needed to be wiped or not. they did say to delete all data which I took as the users email and contacts.

A co-worker of mine looked into exactly this. The migrating of BES users from one environment to another. He found no way to do it without doing a factory reset of each and every device. Major pain in the butt, but there it is.

You would think RIM would have a straight forward method to do this. The support site runs around the issue and does not clearly show a method but gives the impression it is possible. I read the information they have available and was left with the thought it could be done with a simple deletion of the contacts and email on the BB. As I read posts it is apparent RIM missed this one.
