Default BES Express and Lotus Sametime

I read somewhere that BES Express has to run on a dedicated mail server. But, can I run Sametime on the same mail server as BES Express?

Thx in advance for any advice.

Default Re: BES Express and Lotus Sametime

Hi,

yes for performance reasons, its better to have BES running on a dedicated server.

...but...

Lotus Domino and Sametime Connect ( free version ) can easily be installed on the same server/Domino. I have seen an enviroment with 70 BES users and about 120 ST users running in that configuration. You have to watch the load on the server. If the CPU is getting to high, than add one more.

I even have installed Traveler and BES Express on the same server for one of my customers. I you are careful in your port-plan ( one service can use port 80 or port 443 ) then it can be done...
