Default Can i use my 3G connection in any country?

I use AT&T in NYC and I'm travelling to Australia soon. I'd like to know then, can I just use the 3G connection there too, using a local carrier. All that without changing the SIM or anything. I mean, can I use the 3G anywhere in the world without changing the SIM or paying more(roaming)

Yes, you can use it anywhere in the world provided you have activated international roaming, but you WILL pay more. A lot more. AT&T charges $20 per megabyte for data service whilst roaming on a pay as you go basis. If you do not wish to pay these fees, ensure that data service is switched off in your handset prior to switching your mobile back on upon landing in Australia.

From RIM's web site:

9780, 9700
Tri-band 3G HSDPA networks: 2100MHz/1900MHz/850MHz
Tri-band UMTS networks: 2100/1900/850/800 MHz and 2100/1700/900 MHz

Most of Europe uses 2100MHz for 3G so you should be fine traveling abroad with your BlackBerry. But like dc/dc said, watch out for those international data roaming charges!
