from my 8900 to a Tmo G2??? Right now for tmobile I am up for my update, and I can get a G2 for FREE! I love my 8900 and feel like updating to the 9780 is a waste of 2 years, I just don't think it's enough of an improvement to use up my next 2 years worth of upgrade on tmobile. BUT....I'm not really sure I want to leave BB. I know the final decision is mine but how many of you have made the switch, or used the G2 and decided to go back to your blackberry? Reasons for? Reason against?

If you switch, will it mean a new contract and new, higher cost data plan?

Your other, unmentioned alternative is to stick with the 8900 for a while longer. Unless it really isn't doing what you need.

Well, if I can believe the guy at the store, switching will just mean a new phone, I should keep everthing else the same, just with a new 2 year contract. They said if I don't like it I can return it and everything sets itself back to now. I hate to say it but I think I'm actually going to do it. I'll let y'all know what I think once I get it. Makes no sense to me but I have to do it online and wait for them to ship it to me, I think that's stupid but what do I know?

Switching will only mean a new phone according to the guy at the store......But you can't do it with him? Better be careful and know what you are getting into just because you want a new phone.

When my daughter upgraded with the promise all would remain the plan was changed from what it was and thank goodness we did it in the store because he was able to work around the people online and get it restored to the prior costs.

You will have to return within two weeks I think with TMO and once you change phones the contract will probably remain extended and not go back to what it was.

Try to get confirmation of all the details before you jump and be ready....What if you don't like the G2, then what happens after you return it? I don't think they give you your old phone back.

Thanks for the warning. I did get the guy's name so if something goes wrong I can use him as my "source of info". I don't have to send back my old phone, so if I don't like the G I can just switch sim card back to good old 8900.
