Default Backup NOT Possible

Please Login to Remove!

Blackberry Storm
Blackberry Desktop Software (BDS) v. 2.0.0 (downloaded today)
Mac OS X 10.6.6, 64-bit

Prior to today, whenever I plugged my Blackberry into my computer via the USB port, the BDS always came up automatically, and I was able to perform a backuo.

Today, even after this 2.0.0 update, the software does NOT launch itself when I plug in the Blackberry. In fact, the BDS tells me that my Blackberry is "NOT CONNECTED," even though I can see its icons have appeared on my desktop since plugging it in, proving that it IS connected. I can manually see everything on the Blackberry, by opening the icons on my desktop.

I set the updated BDS prefs to automatically launch BDS when device is connected (as before), but since it cannot see what my computer so easily does see, that the Blackberry IS indeed connected, the BDS fails to launch. Even when I run the BDS manually, i am unable to perform a backup. Even a Blackberry reboot doesn't solve this problem.

Now what?

Thanks for any help.
