when i type a text message or an email the symbols typed are not the ones i expect (i.e. i get a "£" instead of a "?"), it looks like the symbols map is somewhat scrambled and doesn't match with the symbols on the keyboard.

any clue?

I wonder if you bought a used BB that was an AZERTY keyboard model and had the keyboard switched to QWERTY.
