I cannot get the BB Messenger to work on my BB9700. After inviting a contact through either SMS/Pin/Barcode the outcome if always "Pending" with the response "Waiting for Authorisation" anybody know what authorisation this relates to and how to fix this ?????

First, do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan, not the same as a basic data or Internet plan? If not, BBM will not function.

If you have a BB Data Plan and it is active, did the person you invite receive the invitation and did they accept it?

Nope no specific BB plan but I am aware of other users on the same network that don't have a BB specific plan and their BB Mesenger works .. on my side no the B party never recieves the invite

You need to have a specific blackberry data plan in order to use BBM.
