Hi

I have downloaded Windows Live Messenger and G Talk from the BB Desktop Manager. Adfter creating the accounts and attempting to log in on the BB9700 I am informed "Service not enabled for this handheld" .....I just installed the app from the CD provided with the BB how can the service not be supported by the handset ???
Got the same response from Windows Live Messenger
The SW version on the BB is v5.0.0.656 ...any ideas

May be the same answer as your questions about BBM. Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?

If the IM service requires data to work you will need the BB Data Plan.....

Google Talk and Windows Live Messenger definitely REQUIRE a BlackBerry Data Plan in order to work.

There's no way around it.
