Default The Undeletable e-mail?

Hello All,

I tried a few different searches and found similare topics, but nothing exactly like I am experiencing. I received an e-mail on Friday. Two copies of the same e-mail popped into my BB. I tried to delete them and nothing happened. Regular delete or a delete prior - neither worked. then Saturday morning, instead of open envelopes, the messages had little folders next to them. Now today, they are back to little envelopes. i tried deleting the message on my Outlook (I use BES). I tried to mark them unread and then delete them, still no dice.

I can't seem to get rid of this double e-mail message. If anyone has any suggestions on what I might try next, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Christopher

Sounds like the datastore for the messages has become corrupt... there's two things you can try (in order):

BACKUP YOUR DEVICE FIRST

In the Desktop Manager:
1) click Backup & Restore
2) click Advanced
On the right-side it will show your handheld databases
3) Select Messages and Message Options
4) click the arrow pointing to the left
5) go File --> Save As... and save it somewhere you'll remember
Make sure you've done the previous step!!!
6) click the Clear button (it will prompt if you really want to clear the databases, click OK)
7) go File --> Open... and open the file you saved in step 5
8) Select the Messages and Message Option on the left hand side
9) Click the arrow pointing to the right

If that doesn't work, you'll have to clear the message datastore (all the messages will be gone)...

In Desktop Manager:
1) click Backup & Restore
2) click Advanced
On the right-side it will show your handheld databases
3) Select Messages and Message Options
4) click the Clear button (it will prompt if you really want to clear the databases, click OK)

Good luck!

Thank you very much. Option 2 seemed to work for me. Those messages are now gone and everything else seems to be working fine.

Thank you for the help, I really appreciate it.

No problem... I'll have to do up a guide for these when I have the time.
