I just got a Blackbarry 8520 PAYG on Orange (UK).

I have an existing Tocco lite with orange SIMM Card which has 5 free txts per day as well as friends numbers etc. I intend to put it in the BB 8520 and use it mainly for texting and e-mail retrievel.

From what I've assertained I need to pay £5 a month ontop of top ups to use BB's email/web/etc services.

I realise that web use (via phone signal) will eat up credit, but am unsure whether using my wifi router at home to browse the interent and retrieve e-mails, facebook etc will use up the 500mb limit the service includes?

Sorry to be asking what may be obvious questions, but the whole BB setup seems quite different to other companies.

Yes it differs. And you need to pay that £5 per month to be able to use push email and facebook app.

No, using wi-fi won't eat the 500MB, and using the web via mobile network also won't eat credit, but use the 500MB you get.

So just to clarify

If I put my Orange PAYG sim in my Orange BB 8520 and pay the £5 a month BB plan, I can use:

email, MSN, Facebook upto 500mb limit on normal connection

and use the same on WIFI with no limits.

and pay nothing else other than the Orange tarrif for texts and calls?

This seems like a very good deal for an occasional user who uses mainly to receive and browse information.
