I have been trawling through forums all morning and am still non the wiser!!!

Basically i've just received my Blackberry Curve 8900 that i purchased on ebay. The seller says it was on orange so i thought great no need for this unlocking business or anything!!! Anyway i'm on orange and after dropping my iphone in the toilet last week i've unsucessfuly been able to get it working so decided to get another phone. The thing is, when i put my sim (iphone) in it says Invalid sim. The start up screen says orange 9also logo'd on phone) but when i go into options, then mobile network it says o2. I have also done the mepd thing and it says network active and everything else disabled. I have also tried an o2 sim to no avail.

I'm feeling pretty stupid and unsure what to do. Please please please help- i've suffered enough with the loss of my beloved iphone x

Not all SIM cards function properly with BlackBerrys, especially newer models. You might trot over to an Orange store and ask about getting a new SIM. I'd be surprised if they didn't do it for free.

The startup screen saying "Orange" means it definitely was originally an Orange-branded BlackBerry, and there is no way to re-lock it, especially to a different carrier. If the new SIM card doesn't work you may have bought a defective BlackBerry.

Thanks.I have spoken to Orange and they seem to think it's the phone. The IMEI number is not listed as stolen, they issued me with a new 2G Sim and signed me up to a blackberry plan instead. However, spent whole of yesterday trying to get phone to work. Still says Sim is inactive- Orange talked me through resetting phone and nothing worked. They seem to think it may have been dropped in water and developed a fault. He confirmed that it was an Orange phone so didn't need to be unlocked!!! I'm sooo angry! I just don't know what to do x

Are the water detection stickers pink/red/etc?

Have you contacted the seller to request a return and replacement or refund?
