I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me.
I have always been underb the impression that the PIN was hardcoded to each device and could never be changed.
However, my daughter just got a new Pearl 9100.
we did the usual sharing PINs etc as soon as she got it yesterday. THen this afternoon I upgraded the OS for her from V 5 to the latest V 6.0. When all was said and done we discovered her PIN changed.

Can someone please explain how this is possible because it has me baffled.

Not possible. You must have typed in the wrong one.

The PIN is indeed hard coded into the device. You can put any OS on it you want, but the initial hard coding from the factory remains untouched.

That's what I thought, but we wrote it down as soon as she got home.. and the PIN listed now is not even close.. original PIN started 236 now it starts 22B

Sue that it was the PIN that started 236?

Doh! ok I'm sorry.. seems this whole thing started because she wrote down my PIN next to her name on a piece of paper... Sorry.. I guess I should memorize my PIN. :-D
