BIS Vs BES Hi, I've some doubt between BIS and BES. If my company has BES, do I still need BIS to retrieve the email? My company's BES system admin could just well give me the activation password, right? And if I get a BIS, do I still need 3G unlimited data? I can still surf everything on BB via BIS? Even abroad with normal monthly fee applied. It would be very appreciated if anyone can clear my doubt here. Thanks! |
Re: BIS Vs BES To access the BES you will need an account with BlackBerry data provisioned to access BES. This will also give you access to BIS so you will be able to access the Web if the BES admin allows it in the ITPolicy, |
Re: BIS Vs BES You only get one or the other. BIS as a personal/home user, or BES through your company. Like hrbuckley said, when you use the corporate BES your company pushes something called an IT Policy onto your BlackBerry. This IT Policy restricts how your BlackBerry works. They can shut down all email but their own, they can turn off texting, web browsing, or whatever they want. You'll get all the access your company allows. |
Re: BIS Vs BES If your comany is using BES Express you can use BIS to access it, however you can't do over the air activations with BES Express & BIS. |
Re: BIS Vs BES So it concludes that I can use the BES to retrieve my company email as long as my company provides me the BES activation password? without BIS? However, my company could restrict the access on my BB to app world or even surfing on the browser? |
