Default Can I use wap access instead of BES?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 7100 that I activated the enterprise email on. I use outlook/BES enterprise email, and I use the web client for my other email accounts.

Today, I tried to download the sudoku gamne advertised on this forum, and got a "websense" block from my work - the web filtering software they use.

I do not want my internet use to be censored on the blackberry - can I use internet as if I was not using the enterprise server??

thanks,

Lee

Sound like your employeer has enabled the policy that forces you to access the web thru MDS. I think your out of luck. They also might have the enabled the policy that prevents you from installing any software on your BlackBerry. In that case, your doublely screwed. I feel your pain, I have to deal with these and a few more policies.

I've been on BB for a while, but not with a BES. I start with a new employer Monday; I can use my current BB and they will hook me up to the BES.

So even with a 8700 that can use TCP the IT admin can block that access? Will this apply to small apps that access via TCP (PocketDay, FreeNews, BB Weather, etc.)?

Thanks

Yep - I think I am screwed.

But if my employer did not restrict me somehow, how would I choose to use TCP access via cingular versus MDS?

I was able to download the game I wanted via using the cingular browser instead of the blackberry browser - will that work for everything?

Thanks,

Lee
