Is it compatible with the new BB OS?. You may need to update the car software. I would check with the dealer. Maybe on their web site.

I started having a similar bluetooth problem with my 9800 Torch, when I changed from my 9700 Bold, which I had for over 1 year.

This problem with the 9800 was only happening with my Range Rover Vogue. There was no problem with any other phone - my son's iphone connected to my RR, as did my old 9700.

Initially I thought it was my 9800 handset - swapped it at the store for a replacement one. Still the same problem with the new handset - pairing was ok, but connection failed 19/20 times.

Desperate for a result, I got a "tech" in this evening (Sunday rates!) who downgraded my BB operating system from to the previous OS.
I am now running on OS 6.0 Bundle 695. Importantly, it means that I am on v., which is the next lowest version below (at least here in Australia under the Optus carrier)

Good news - my 9800 now connects!!
Seems that there is a real issue out there with OS, so RIM - please take note.

However - I still have one problem: the 9800 keeps asking for my Range Rover's 4 digit passkey. This is even though I have set the bluetooth settings as follows:

Trusted: YES

Anybody who has been able to fix this - your advice would be most welcome.
