Default lost applications after upgrade? is it normal?

Please Login to Remove!

i have blackberry curve 8900. i upgraded the OS from 4.6 to version 5.0. it was successful. i did a back up files before i upgrade and restore it after i upgrade. however when i browse my phone, most of the pre-installed application was lost? no games inside the folder, some program in the applications folder was lost and many more even the third party application. but what i don't understand is why the pre-installed applications are gone? do i need to re-install again these applications? Please help. thank you. :(

PS: and also, i go to options>advance options>applications but still the applications are not there.

If they are not to be found, I would reinstall one and see if it then appears on the device somewhere.

If you did not install your carrier's official OS, then they probably wouldn't be there, if they were unique to your carrier.

Many of your old third-party apps may not be compatible with the new OS you installed. Doing a major upgrade from OS 4.x to OS 5.x, or from 5 to 6 like I just did, means you have to download a new version of some apps. And sometimes a new compatible version is just not available. Happened to me with Viigo. In that case you have to find a substitute for the old app.

Using old and incompatible versions of applications can really mess up the overall stability of your BlackBerry. They screw with more than just their own functions, effecting the system software itself.
