Remember, TMO will provide all these services for the same price as Exchange My Mail.

Why throw out more money to compensate for the inadequacy of someone you're currently paying, a premium price I might add? That's unamerican in my book. Take advantage of your liberties. Many of person paid the ultimate price for you to have these rights. Where does it end?

Why be loyal and give money to a company that's causing you grief and won't give you what you feel you paid for? If you stay with them it will never get fixed. That's like paying one doctor to make you sick while you secretly go to a speialist to get well?????

LOL.

Geez, what are you president of the company or something?

For me the most important feature, the one I'm willing to pay for is coverage. And to be brutally honest, in the areas I find myself, T-Mobile's coverage blows. I had service with them before and it was a tremendous mistake. I was lured to them by one of their great plans. All the minutes in the world don't mean jack if you can't use the phone.

P.S. Do the T-Mobile Blackberry plans come with wireless synchroniztion of calendar, tasks, notes and contacts for non BES users?

Bingo!!!!! What I have found is that Tmobiles covereage (on voice) is horrible. I don't know if that coverage would be different for strictly BBerry????

That's why more than one wireless carrier exists.

The simple answer of just switch to "X" provider because they offer
"this" feature at "this" price just doesn't work for everyone.

my business is cell phone technology, I have over 40 demo cell phones/pdas on 9 different carriers...I assure you, I see what is good and what's not. I'm glad you are enjoying your Tmo experience, however long lists of data that my company has collected negate your claims. Again, I am speaking of VOICE ONLY. We have found that Tmo's data service is great, WHEN YOU HAVE COVEREAGE, which is very, very sketchy..

Just to further complicate things.....

I called into Cingular to have them remove the Wireless Internet Pay Per Use feature and credit me back for the charges on my bill.

This time the data support rep. tells me this is how it's suposed to happen.......

They add the the Wireless Internet Express Pay Per Use feature to your account. This triggers the addition of the wap.cingular APN to your account as well. Then they are suposed to remove the Wireless Internet Express Pay Per Use feature (which only removes the billing portion but keeps access to the wap.cingular APN available to you.)

It's trully amazing. You can get a different answer every time you call. I'm still on hold while the data support rep. confers with customer service about removing the WIX line and giving me a credit. We'll then see if the APN still works.

Edit- Now the rep. came back on the line to say he was trying to verify what the exact policy on this situation actually is.

More later...................

Edit again - Rep. came back on the line and cofirmed what I was told earlier. Use of the wap.cingular APN will result in Wireless Internet Pay Per Use charges unless you have a wap plan (like Media Net) added to your account.

I'm having the feature removed, having a credit added to my account and then setting up BES hosting. I can't have an "unlimited" plan and then be constantly worrying about my usage and how much my next bill might be.

Yeah, but sadly there are no other real options. We both agree that Tmobile has poor coverage, even though they might have great data content and service, their COVERAGE is awful. Verizon is greatly lacking content and global capabilities. Seems like Cingular is the choice..no?

That's fantastic champ. Do you take your demos to multiple places in this country? How about other countries? Does your analysis simply look at signal strength numbers, or actual call completion ratios?

I'm going to say it again, consistency is what matters, and that it is what T-Mobile provides me. So, just stop arguing with me. T-Mobile works the best for ME.

Wow.

Words can not describe how pleased I am with the Exchange My Mail service.

The entire set up process took less than 30 minutes and Dave and Steve walked me through the whole thing.

I'm now able to use third party apps without the fear of some huge bill from Cingular.

I am totally confused. So this is what I have on my Cingular Blackberry account:

GPRSRoaming-Canada $0.00
Cingular Domestic LD $0.00
Cingular Roam LD $0.00
OffNetwork Roaming $0.00
BB UNL Add On $44.99
Rollover FM 4000 $0.00
Unlimited N&W $0.00
Txt Msg 50 Promo (Expired 02/23/06 ) $0.00
BB UNL Retail $0.00
GSM Coverage Area $0.00
Cingular Direct Bill $0.00
Unlimited Expd M2M $0.00
Text Messaging 50 (Eff 02/23/06 ) $0.00
Total: $44.99

I've also got Exchange My Mail service. So with all that in mind, do I need the BB UNL Add On for $44.99? What does this service really provide me versus Exchange My Mail?

If your apps work and you don't see the "Wireless Internet Express Pay Per Use" line on your bill, you should be ok. For me it worked great for 4 months, then in November when I switched BBs, I started getting billed for wap. The last 2 months, I would call when I get my bill, they would apologize for the issue, remore the charges and "fix it" and we would go again. This last time after allot of pain, I finally got it changed so the per per use line doesn't show up, and my apps work, so we will see what my bill looks like in about 10 days

Here is what my Cingular online features that look like they pertain to the BB:

BLACKBERRYCONNECTUNL $44.99
/BLACKBERRY CONNECT WAP $0.00
BLACKBERRYCONNECTUNL $0.00

Yes you still need the BB UNL plan.

That's in essence your data connection. You're paying Cingular to use their network to interact with the Exchange My Mail servers. Without a Blackberry plan from Cingular you wouldn't be able to anything that requires a data connection.

Exchange My Mail provides you with the hosting service.

Without a BB plan, you can't get email or any data to your device, it becomes a phone/organizer.
