I usually use speed dial, or go to my contacts, when I need to dial a number. However, I've recently discovered my BB9780 won't dial a number from the homescreen. I can only do it through the "phone" icon. The only thing I've changed in the last month is to upgrade my device to the latest build. Since I've never had to change/restore this capability, I'm at a loss as to what I need to do. Any suggestions???? I'd appreciate any ideas.

Check phone > options and turn on dial from home.

I've search all through the options. I haven't found an option to dial from homescreen. Am I missing something????

Options (wrench icon) > Phone Options > General Options > Dial from home screen > Choose Yes

Also same as Ira indicated from the Phone screen > BB Menu key > Options > General Options > Dial from home screen > Choose Yes

If not, what OS version are you running?

You have to open the Phone like you're gong to dial a number, but then use the Menu/BlackBerry key to access Options in the drop-down menu.
