Hi, I have a curve 8900 and recently upgraded to a 9780.
I use the speakerphone a lot and this was one of the best attributes of the 8900.
Conversations were a pleasure with a nice mellow, soft quality to the sound.
When I tried the speakerphone on the 9780, it is a tinny, harsh, unpleasant sound. ( tried a curve 9300 too and it is very poor, as well ).
I couldn't even contemplate using it, so have gone back to the 8900.
My brother has a Bold 9000 and it is as good as the 8900.
Am I right in thinking that more recent BB components are of inferior quality? and is there any way of replacing the speaker with a better quality one?
Strangely, videos and music sound as good on the 9780. The problem is just with phone conversations.
Any advice would be appreciated.
