Wierd, Maybe downloading the new app cleared an issue. Does it also work on calls?

Could have been something with the jack after all. Maybe something mechanical that has been reversed, or dust or dirt. Don't be surprised if the problem recurs. Fingers crossed it doesn't.

I had a problem similar to this one time and I pulled my hair out trying to figure it out. As it turns out I carried my berry in my front pocket for the longest time and over time a piece of lint had worked its way into the 3.5mm audio jack. When I would plug my headphones the plug would look as though it had seated all the way but the lint in the bottom was keeping it from making the proper connections. After days of searching and looking I got a flashlight looked into the audio jack, used a toothpick and picked out a nice little piece of lint and now all is well. It is possible that all the inserting and pulling out of the headphones dislodged something in the jack, and now all is well.

Just keep it in mind if it happens again, it's not common but it does happen.
