Default Os 7 & Eas?

Will BB OS 7 support EAS without the need for BES?

Before anyone jumps at me, realize that some users who want to still use a BB would like to be able to without BES and with EAS like Android, iOS, WebOS all allow for.

If RIM has made that decision, to not allow it, that's fine - I just want to know when I can decommission BES (at our small -shop-) and stop paying ATT for Enterprise Data on those lines because it's needed (& no, I don't want to deploy BES express either)...

There has been no indication that this will happen in OS 7.
I doubt it will ever happen.

Thanks Penguin - I guess one can hope.

I understand RIM's position, but at the same time, how difficult would it be to allow those who want to, to use BES and lock out EAS, and give others the option.

We've now got a small # of users on BES and it's a virtual server, but still, one more system that I would like to not have to maintain.

Anyway, thanks again.
