Thanks for all of the directions that are posted. I've been working on this for hours, and I still keep getting the lowercase "edge" when I click browser. Is there anything I can do? thanks!

1. Do you have an active BlackBerry Data Plan?
2. Have you manually loaded the TMobile Service Books?

#1- I am pretty sure I do. I signed up today on TMOBILE's site. Is there a simple test I can do?

The Facebook App works
I also seem to be getting my yahoo mail updated

App World works, a bit sporadically though

to update this, according to the tmobile site I have the following:



Current rate plan: Unlimited Talk, Text, Web
Current service: Blackberry Internet Services
Minutes: Unlimited
Messages: Unlimited
Data used: 5.9 MB/Unlimited

If your Facebook app is working, it means you have an active BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) plan.

Try to delete all of your service books (options - advanced options - service books).
Pull battery out
Register now (options - advanced options - host routing table, MENU button - register now).

Deleting service books will be a problem and t-mo will not resend them. They do not support the 9530 and therefore have no service books for the device.

Try a battery pull and see if that works.

Did you read the sticky at the top of the 9500 section about running the 9530 on AT&T and T-Mo?

I followed all of the steps. And I am pretty sure I have the TMOBILE service books installed.

I have an account with TMOBILe, where I can trigger an email to get the service books sent. They told me to select the Blackberry 8800 in their system since there is no 9530 option. So I guess they are sending me the 8800 service books?

Let us know if that works. If so we can update the sticky. 8800 doesn't have all the features of the 9530 so it will be interesting to see how well it works, if it does.

this link takes you to an at & t site.
also, before learning what I said the tech said, what phone were you guys suggesting people to choose, since tmobile doesn't have a 9530?

it "works," but I still don't consistently have EDGE.

one more thing. i am seeing on various forums that storm users had a constant EDGE signal with the Blackberry Storm 9530 4.7.0.90 OS. Would it make sense to switch to this?

If the current OS is not giving you what you need then I suppose it is worth a shot. However, in these places you read about success with the 4.7 OS:
1) How old or recent are these comments?
2) Is yours a Verizon branded Storm and is theirs too?
3) Is anyone posting they do not get a strong EDGE signal using the 5.0.0.328 OS you are having trouble with?

I installed the 5.0 browser again, and I now I seem to have STORM most of the time. Not sure what changed....
