Default Blackberry services

Hi everyone.
I want to buy a blackberry, specifically the Bold 9700
To use the blackberry messenger and mail and all the other services, do I need a special blackberry data plan? Or I can use a normal data plan (ie. a 1GB download limit plan) with the blackberry?

I just bought my first BB and I'm pretty sure I have the regular data plan. I can still use BBM and I'm getting my e-mails. Does this mean I have BB data plan?

Yes. Some carriers (most notably AT&T - I see you are on US Cellular) will automatically add the BB Data Plan if they detect you are using a BB. If BBM and e-mail work, you have a properly provisioned data plan.
