i have had a Blackberry Bold 9000 for about 2 years and it was stolen. So i just bought a Pearl 8220 and i was trying to install new software and Sync so i can have my contacts and it will not let me. Any Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

when i download the software it tells me to insert a cd and insert the cd and then it gives me a error 1714. i cannot sync the new phone with the old or new software.

What software? Are you talking about Desktop Manager?

What CD?

What were you doing before? Apparently it worked. What is different now other than the BlackBerry?

Do you have BB desktop manager installed on your computer?
If you do should be plug and play, if not go to blackberry webpage, download and install it. after that, to be able to transfer your contacts to the new BB make sure you have a backup from the old one.
