I am using a BB9700 and when trying to send SMS I get this error "network out of order" how do fix this?

You could try a battery pull but perhaps better to call AT&T?

And please update your profile as it says you are using an 8310, not a 9700.

I had the same problem, tried a warm boot, tried a hard boot, tried playing with the SMS options, even tried the official BBry online help files. Nothing had any effect until I (re-)registered my phone on the network. Try this (if you have the same menu options):

Home screen > Options icon > Device > Advanced System Settings > Host Routing Table > [Blackberry menu button] > Register now

After I did this I sent several messages, to two different contacts, and both seem to have gone through.

What does AT&T say about this error message? Sounds like it could be network trouble on AT&T's side, perhaps locally.
