So I have a curve, regrettably dont know the model (I can only get 3 g internet service even though Im upgraded to 4g, if that helps)

Anyway, I have had a few strange things with checking my yahoo mail on my phone lately.

First, I have had my phone telling me my browser does not support the latest version of yahoo, and gives me the option to "just this one time, go to an older version of yahoo"...

Most recently, I tried to check it this morning, and I get a message saying

"You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the server's cerftificate is not trusted"

and its gives the options:
continue, close connection, view certificate, or trust certificate.

??

I have a yahoo mail account that I use for forums, companys etc.

The previous yahoo account that I had was hacked, and this replacement receives all sorts of rubbish and spam....where other accounts with other providors don't.

I personally wouldn't have a yahoo account anywhere near my phone, and only log into the one I have through my PC which is full to the brim with antivirus programs.

Once tried to log into the yahoo with the android and I got all sorts of odd messages like you have, so I ran the AVG and didn't ever put my phone in the firing line again.

I appreciate loads of folks will have yahoo that works ok and that they have no bother with....but this is just my experience.

You need to provide more information.

Do you have an active BlackBerry Data Plan?
Have you done a battery pull?
Have you tried reloading the device OS?
What other troubleshooting have you done to solve this?

AVG is an antivirus product. But pay no attention.

How are you accessing Yahoo on your BlackBerry? It doesn't sound like you are using the mobile web site, except I thought yahoo.com would redirect to the mobile page on a mobile device.

On the certificate error, it could be a lot of things. Sometimes you can see the reason - like an expired certificate - if you view.

But if you give some details on how you are accessing Yahoo on the BlackBerry maybe someone will see the answer straight off.

Sorry forgive my ignorance, by data plan you mean...? I have unlimited internet access if thats what you are referring to.

I access yahoo by googling yahoo mail, then logging in. I have always checked mail on my 9300, but lately there are weird things that have me worried.

I have done several battery pulls lately, but I dont believe that will solve this..

I havent reloaded OS, how to go about this?

I often access yahoo by looking at my history, then clicking on a pervious days yahoo mail, and going from there. Strangely, I just did that, and it didnt give me the error certificate thing... but is still asking for my password....

Do you have BIS? If so, just add your address(s) and forget the webpage.

EDIT: Ok, I type yahoo.com into the address bar on my BlackBerry and the browser redirects to http://m.yahoo.com/. I log in and then select mail at the top right, see the email page and everything, no problems.

EDIT #2: Try this. Delete browser cache and cookies. Go ahead and do a hard reset just for good measure. Then use the mobile page, m.yahoo.com, and see what happens.

Just an FYI. You will find most if not all the people on this forum are courteous and attempt to offer help on things posted. Sometime we get a reaction such as yours but not to often

Only giving an opinion on an email providor that I've had bad experiences with....and it would appear that the poster is also having weird things happening.....just trying to help buddy....

I don't think the source or cause of the OP's problem is clear yet.

Of course you need anti-malware on your android. But OP is asking about a BlackBerry. Whatever problem the OP is having, it isn't malware.
