is there a way of loading the curve 8320 os into the curve 8310 and so get wifi suport? i see that the chips in both units are identical and from that point of view there should be no problem.

There is no WiFi hardware on the 8310.
Your analysis is not correct.

And you can't load 8320 firmware onto an 8310.

So, there is no way.
