Friend dropped 7520 into bucket of water
 

Haha so my friend was washing his car and bent over and his 7520 slid out of the holster and fell into the bucket of water. This was two days ago and we have tried drying it out but it still won't come on any suggestiong on how to bring this thing back to life? I tried the sim card and battery out of mine but no luck.

Anytime something like that happens you'll want to pull the battery ASAP, split the case open, and rinse with deionized water if you can. Then air dry in dry air... Just don't let it take water in and start corroding or let condensation build up. You can also Google for the various Blackberry repair shops to see if they'll handle it for you. -Pk

I know Mark did a write-up on this topic before with a step by step way to try and fix it. Try searching for it, it's around here somewhere.

One time I jumped in my pool with my brand new Nokia6310i and I immediately put it againt my shop-vac's sucker and it took me good 20 minutes but it came out fine with no problems.

Spending a lot of time around boats I have seen cell phones, GPS's, Gameboy's, and other electronics, etc dropped in the water. When it happens at the marina where I keep my boat they immediately remove the battery, rinse it in distilled water, then put it in the refrigerator. After 24-36 hours in a frostless refrigerator it should be dry and will work if it ever is going to.
