Question BlackBerry Support...Tell us what you think?

How valuable would it be to have an online service where you could backup and access your BlackBerry data via a secure data server for Non-BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) users? BES users have the wireless synchronization feature that allows them to get their Outlook, Lotus Notes, etc. information wirelessly without having to use the Desktop Manager Intellisync program.

For example: Your BlackBerry crashes on you while away from your computer where your Contacts, Emails, Calendar, etc...are located. You call your service provider and they successfully assist you in getting your BlackBerry to boot back up, but you don't have your Emails, Contacts or Calendar.

We want to get opinions on how Non-BES users would feel about a service that can update your data into the BlackBerry format to allow you to restore your data back onto your BlackBerry. You would be able to access your files via a secure login and can update as often as you like. The process would be to export your Calendar, Emails, Contacts, etc...into an Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet. Once your spreadsheet is updated, it can be translated into the *.ipd (format the BlackBerry and Desktop Manager recognize) file for you or simply upload your *.ipd and it will remain on the secure server for you to access at anytime.

Other services can also include BlackBerry Support for the solutions not available through your service provider support. BlackBerry out of warranty? Constant Software Issues? Multiple Devices to repair? Would it be beneficial to have an alternative to purchasing a new device if yours is repairable? Fill out an online form describing issues with device or software for device. If repairable, simply ship your device for repair. As an added incentive, there would be a 24/7/365 IVR system to give status of repair. No long holds to talk to someone to tell you status information. The status of your repair would be accessible via a toll-free number and online.

Feel free to voice your opinions and let us know what you think! Also fill out the poll.

Thanks for your time,
