Question Any way to force BIS server to D/L new messages?

I have a BIS account with my Bold 9930. I believe the default check time is 15 minutes for the server to check for new mail. If there is a message, then it checks again every 3 minutes for new mail within a 15 minute time period until no more mail arrives which it then reverts back to checking every 15 minutes. This is at least what I read someplace awhile back. Question is, is there a way to force a check from the handset if I know an email is on the way? Would it be something like re-registering the handset to receive service books again or is there another way or does this not exist at all?

No, there is no manual override to get a more frequent check or an individual check of the server. If your email provider supports IMAP IDLE your new mail will be pushed instantly.

Not the best way but you can have the email auto forwarded to the BB if you dont need it on the email service site. works with Yahoo etc. Not the best method for instant service unless you want to use the email address that comes with the service.

But the problem with the carrier email account is the only way to read mail to that account is on the BB, so when BB data is out, you could be without for however long its down. There is no webmail option and no spam filters.
