We have been using Earthlink Blackberry for a few years. A few months ago, we upgraded to the 7250. When our users travel out of town (like from LA to Arizona or Las vegas), the Blackberry stops working. This happens to us so many times. Last weeek, our user could not send/recieve any BB emails while he was in New York. He told me everyone else's BB work like normal.

Earthlink Tier-2 support engineer told us we have to dial *28890 make it work everytime we travel. Is this normal?

Does any other Earthlink 7250 Blackberry users have this problems? Any real fix?

I don't know specifically what an "earthlink" blackberry is . . but my users were having roaming problems while in NY, Orlando, etc. because the SIP user id's were set wrong.

once set correctly - they were immediately able to collect their emails while out of town.

Hi, I refer to the Blackberry offers by Earthlink.net It uses Verizon network.

I have been using an Earthlink 7250 since last summer. I have never experienced roaming problems of any sort. I have driven from Jacksonville, Florida, to Quincy, Mass, through rural areas of western North Carolina, Virginia, eastern Pennsylvania, etc. and around the state of Florida.

With a Verizon (including Earthlink) phone, *228 takes you to setup, where you can update your Preferred Roaming List (PRL) by choosing option 2. You should update your PRL any time a new one is available. If you don't keep track of PRLs, calling *228, option 2, every month or so, will keep you up to date.

Thanks but I did try that while on the phone with Earthlink. Their Tier-2 engineer called back 24 hours later (way too late) about *22890.

Why does this only happen to us? Maybe we are one of those StealthBerry with the workaround to bypass NTP patents?

I've had my Earthlink 7250 since last May. I am based in California but have used it (voice, data, email, etc) while traveling across the US without any trouble. Have not had to *xxxx anything anywhere
