Default Bluetooth messages - what do they mean?

Please Login to Remove!

I have been playing around with the BlueTooth part of my Blackberry and am wondering what these two messages mean and what the difference between them is.

I get these messages when I search for a device, find one, and then click on it.

"Enter numeric passkey for [name of phone]" or "Enter alphanumeric passkey for [name of phone]"

and:

"Pairing attempt from [name of phone]. Does this number match [e.g. 123 4567]?"

I am wondering why there are two types of message and what each of them refers to.

Thanks.

This is you trying to pair your phone with someone else's phone.
