My name is Ankur and i am from India. I am using curve 8520 v4.6.1.314 (platform which my brother living in UK gifted me. Now my friends says there is a upgrade version 5 is available and when i connect my phone with the computer via desktop manager it shows a v5 update..
Now my questions are

1. Can i update my curve in India because the phone was purchased from UK and when ever i switch on the mobile phone it shows T Mobile in welcome screen. Will it give any sort of problem if i try to do that?
2. And if i can upgrade then is there is any possibilities that i lost all my BBM contacts? If yes than how can i save those contacts?

Pls help me in It, as i am totally new in this Blackberry thing and i don't know a single thing about it .

Thanks and Regards

No, the T-Mobile logo is not a problem and it cannot be changed.

No, you will not lose your contacts as long as you allow the Desktop Manager software to back up your device before it upgrades. You should be prompted to back up.
