When I sync my contacts and calendar with outlook it is telling me there are 200 and some changes to the contacts when in reality I haven't made any changes. This happens with the calendar too.

What I've tried is wiping all the calendars and contacts from the blackberry and then syncing it with outlook. The initial sync works fine, but the next time I plug it in it will say there are a bunch of changes.

The blackberry is set to keep all calendar entries and autoarchiving is turned off in outlook. The same thing happened when I went to a brand new Bold 9900 so it can't be a problem with the phone itself.

Sounds like a formatting issue. Google does this quite a bit. I've never gotten it straightened out properly on any of my devices.

What I believe rambo is saying is that if you are sync'ing with something else besides Outlook, then it is possible the sync with something else is changing format (not information) in each record, and then when you sync with Outlook you see Desktop Manager prompting to sync all those changes. And, he is saying he has this issue with google but hasn't found a solution.

So, if you are sync'ing with something else, that is probably that is probably the explanation.

We use Zimbra for our email server which has exchange support. We use what is called a Zimbra Connector for Outlook which basically sets up a MAPI account which connects to the Zimbra server. I also have an ipad which is connected through exchange to the Zimbra server so maybe that's where the formatting issue comes in..

Facebook contacts are notorious for creating duplicates. If a particular field gets mis-mapped during the sync process it gets added as a new contact. Home/Work phone numbers getting mis-labeled happens between Macs and Google a lot.
