I am going to try it out. But not until I get home because I got all the way through registering to find out I have to load this through the PC not OTA. I will post a review.

It did take forever and now when I choose an option inside the program it gives me some Uncaught Exception blah blah error. Thats it, my review is it didnt work. I will stick with getting my news and other info from other sources.

Sirchip,

Were you getting a "Sync Process Failed. Please try again" message upon your first sync attempt? I can't seem to get it to sync the first time. I have a 7290 and Cingular.

I can't get Google local to work either. Comes back with a similar "network" error. All my other browsing through the Cingular Browser is fine, although slow.

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

like before...i didnt do anything special and it just started to work on its own and still use mobileplay once in a while. the only thing that might help would be to see if youre using the latest software upgrade.

hope it helps!

Thanks sirchip. "latest software upgrades".... do you mean latest BB OS? I have v4.0.0.219. Can I download and install a newer version myself?

I also got a reply from MobilePlay indicating I might need a new IPPP 5 Click service book:

<<<Some older BlackBerry device use a "IPPP for 5 Click [PPP]" Network channel. This is an older network connection setting that needs to up updated in order for Mobileplay to sync on your device.

Mobileplay uses the IPPP for BIBS connection. This entry includes the older "5 click PPP" setting and will not effect your existing connectivity in any negative way.

Verify that the BIBS service entry is present in the ServiceBook by going to Options->ServiceBook entry and view. See if there is an entry similar to IPPP For BIBS[IPPP]. If not please ask your carrier to provision this entry, assuming you have a BlackBerry data plan. It should be there by default, and the carrier should not charge you extra.>>>

Here is the support link:

Know anything about BIBS???

Thanks again.
