I updated my 7520 from 4.0 to 4.1 and things went for the worse. One thing I noticed is my missing saved folder icon, please check you unit. Next my unit responds slowly. I also have a new message called "key store" I am not sure what it is but when I spoke to Level 2 support, I was told that 4.1 has issues and he recomended I downgrade to 4.0. The tech said I was his third caller with issues with 4.1 in 1 hour. Maybe others are having better luck than I.

i am upgrading my 4th device right now

I've upgraded about a dozen devices since yesterday and only had issues with one. Fatal error on that one and it somehow revered to v1.5 OS. Strangest thing I've ever seen. Even tried to wipe it with JavaLoader and reload the 4.1 OS and it still failed. Just gave her a 7100i instead, which is what she wanted anyway

I don't seem to have my saved folder either. The saved messages are accessible from the Messages menu, View Saved Messages. I havn't noticed a speed problem or key store message.

the saved folder icon and compose icon were removed but they are in your messages icon. just go into your messages and hit the thumb wheel and scroll down to view saved messages

I didn't know there was a saved folder icon. I must have hid it???? I guess I won't miss it then?!?!

In the messages list, tap on V. Don't hold it too long as it will go into speed dial.

Also expore the search function and how you can assign shortcuts. For example, I hide my sent messages, but Alt-T brings up a search for sent messages which with the 8700's speed, it pops up right away.

I too have had a problem with my 4.1 upgrade.
Here in Nebraska, the 2 biggest players were Alltel and Cellular One (Western Wireless). Of course Alltel bought Western WIreless, and are in the process of merging.
On Tuesday, Alltel began merging towers in our area, and I went to roaming, with Data Access Refused. I called Blackberry support, and they found the PRL was wrong. They would not help with the problem, since I had the newer OS from another company.
I re-installed the 4.0 software, updated my PRL, and have no problems.
I like the OS changes, seemed to make the user experience mch better.

so you had problems because you upgraded using another carriers os upgrade?
Thats not 4.1's fault. wait for you carrier to release 4.1

I am running my Tmob 7290 on OS4.1 and I have both a saved messages icon as well as the saved messeges option in the regular messages app.

I think if you read the 4.1 upgrade posts and threads, most people who are upgrading are using the only 7250 4.1 software out there.

I know it is not the carriers fault, I was merely relaying a problem that I had with the upgrade

im running on a nextel 7520 and when i upgraded to 4.1 i hated the fact that i lost my compose new email and view saved email icons. its not a big deal but it urked me. however if you go to themes and right click to download new themes the theme they have availble (which is very nice by theway) put the view saved messages and compose icons back on ur homepage. hope that helps
