Default Text message alert for voice mail

I keep getting a text message alert/notification on my home screen when I get a voice mail. That just complicates things, and I am a simple minded person. Is there a way to shut off that notification? I've already got that vhs tape looking symbol whenever I get voice mail, that's all I need.

Default Re: Text message alert for voice mail

That's the way it's always been...voicemail alert (or is it missed call, or is it both?) doubled up with the SMS alert. You could mute the SMS alert, but I'm assuming you don't want to do that.
