Just thought I would warn BES admins who plan on using this tool to migrate accounts from BES 4.x to BES 5.x. I have seen the following issues.

Users with OS 6.0.0.524 will lose all of their Outlook Contacts. This is not device specific. An activation will not work alone. You have to wipe and then reactivate. Told RIM about issue and they said it will be looked at in a future release of the transporter tool (don't know why when most people will be on BES 5 by the time they can release an update to the tool.)

Some users will have the "Delete On:" setting changed to Delete on handheld during the migration. We had about 25 out of 3000 accounts experience this issue. Simple fix just tell them to go to the email reconcile options and change it back to Delete On: Mailbox and Handheld. Your tickets might say something like... My emails are not deleting in Outlook anymore when I delete on BB.. Or the more vague.. My bb is not synching anymore.

RIM support says changing the option to "trigger slow migration" will help avoid issues like these. I don't know how to change that option, or have I tested it as I already migrated the users before I saw the issues.

Two questions:

Which version of the Transporter tool did you use. When you are setting up the users to transport from one database/server to the other, there is an option to use bulk mode as well as trigger slow sync.

I've used it and haven't experienced these issues. However, I am on GroupWise, and the user's contacts came over as well using 9330's on OS6.

Also the issue of missing contacts only happened to the specific OS 6.0.0.524 using bulk transfer no matter which device model.
