My daughter has a b.b we do not have a plan just pay as you go,she gets unlimited texting for 1 month as long as i put another 20 rogers card on it every month..what confuses me is she can be anywhere driving in my car at the store ect...and she gets on google i thought we had to pay for internet?This blackberry has been unlocked.

You need to explain exactly what you mean by "gets on google."

FYI, you do need a BlackBerry data plan in order to enable the BlackBerry browser, the wifi browser in many cases, and BlackBerry data services like BBM etc.

BUT you can often use a third party browser such as opera mini using the carrier APN. See blackberryfaq.com. Not to say it is free, however. Perhaps you are paying for it. Or maybe you haven't seen the bill yet.

no im not paying for it i signed no contract,i go to the store a pay 20$ for a phone card thats it,what i mean is we can be driving down the road and she can go web surfing.without the phone asking her to connect to a wifi server..But i dont pay for the internet so why can she get on facebook and utube ect..when we are at home it will ask her to connect to my wifi so she does,and alls fine,but i dont pay for internet on her phone

Reading the Rogers site it does indicate they offer a "social" plan for the blackberry and it's available on the "Pay as You Go" plans also. Really good rates. Covers 7 social links.

I can only assume that whatever she is doing is included in the service you are paying for.

I'm curious if she is using the BlackBerry browser, or a social app along the lines of what tsac refers to.

Not sure about Rogers, but Bell, included in their social plans do not allow browser use at all. They will push almost any IM app you want, or FB, Twitter, etc...

Some tiers will allow a BIS-Lite version, with an <user>@<carrier>.blackberry.<xxx> account and unlimited e-mails but no browsing. You can pretty much get almost any combination of services a la carte. As with anything that you can pay service by service, it can get expensive pretty quickly and sometimes it may be easier to just go with a full BIS plan.
