| 8700 for Nextel Please Login to Remove! I just heard that that the 8700 model would be available from Nextel next month. Does anybody have any SOLID proof whether this is true or not?? | | Offline

| 8700 for Nextel I read it while surfing on the web. Since then I have read on one of the threads here that some are having trouble getting the 7100i through retail and being told that a new model is coming out. It may sound trivial but the 8700 can handle mp3 ringtones and I really miss them since getting the 7100i.
Hopefully someone here can clarify. | | Offline

| Don't get your hopes up, if a new 8700 appears for anything it will be the CDMA carriers first. iDEN networks tend to be last due to the technology. Just think how long NEXTEL/MiKE waited for the 7520 and then a 7100 device, I still don't think MiKE Network here in Canada has the 7100i yet? | | Offline

| Don't expect an 8700 on iDEN. Let's see if/when the CDMA version comes out for Tmobile and once there, will Sprint adopt it. iDEN is gone in a few years and I just don't see much business sense in putting a new model out there.
Now if it truely is coming, I will line up for it. The bulk of the 7520 is killing me. Better model than the previous XX10 models but awefully large and the antenae is really starting to leave a mark on my love handles | | Offline

| I think you were thinking of the CDMA 8700 for Sprint/Nextel. Not for iDEN. | | Offline

It is unfortunate to have to wait for a newer product to come out when you see others enjoying it. When the 7290 finally came to T-Mobile, all the, at the time "electron", rumors were in full bloom. In the end I've just ended up waitng for the 8700 for T-Mobile, and waiting, and waiting...

I asked why a CDMA device would come out for T-Mobile since T-Mobile is GSM, not CDMA. Guess that one went over your head.
Anyway, I didn't wait for a T-Mobile branded 8700. I paid my money and bought an 8700c and had it unlocked. Now I have a device that is cooler than the T-Mobile ones, whilst still using my favorite provider, the big pink T.

I've seen some really idiotic things posted here.
I'm glad that you actually know that T-Mobile is not a CDMA provider. That would have been a new low in things I've heard in my life if you had been serious.

| I know I will be buying a bb next month when i get my deposit back next month from Nextel. I have already prepard to get the 7100i, I bought a Jabra BT500, I ordered a high capicity battery & door, I downloaded all the appropriate applications & themes, & I am going to order the fortte flip down croc styled case with my name embroided in it this weekend. But I spoke to someone and they mentioned something about Nextel having a 8700 in Q2 of 2006 which i figure is next month. So should I get it or is the 8700 just a rumor? | | Offline
