Angry 7100 Series + BES + MDS = Modem for laptop

Please Login to Remove!

Hi There,
Have seen alot of chat about configuring your blackberry to be used as a modem when you subscribe to a service provider.

Has any one managed to configure their laptop to use their Blackberry as a modem via their own BES Server?

I have a 7100G + BES Server 4.0 sp3.

Cheers Gekko

Yes. My modem FAQ does explain how to connect a BlackBerry as a modem for a laptop -- however, to get the data to go through BES instead of the carrier TCP/IP.

However, if you must use MDS data instead of carrier TCP/IP, you need to use the third party Sharkmodem product at www.mobishark.com rather than the modem built into BlackBerryOS 4.x on newer devices.
