my bold 9700 has been going to a black screen today after sitting idle , it works fine after i take out and replace the battery but i dont want to be doing this all the time , any body no of a fix for this problem , any help would be great , thanks

theres also a Red light flashing in and out when i have the black screen and the keypad stays lighted up if that helps

What did you do tot he device just before it happened/

Did you drop it or has it gotten wet?

Have you let the battery run down past 20% on a regular basis?

souns like the facial sensor is kicking in, do you use a case or and screen protector?

if yes remove them and see if it persists.
