could someone please help me. i got the os 6.0.0.448 install on my 9700 a couple of months now. since then ive been experiencing alot of memort leaks....my phone goes from 27.1MB-6.2MB in less than 4 hours! its so frustrating when i have to constantly keep rebooting my phone...i dont have much apps install either! i tried upgrading.. i download the os that i wanted followed the instructions and when i click finish for the update to start, i get a command saying that my os was successfully updated but its not...still the same....tried multiple time! HELP

You should load another version of the OS.

From what I have read in the past, the 9700 wasn't really designed to run OS 6. Many have downgraded back to OS 5.

Devnull is correct. OS 6 leaves very little free memory. The 9700 works much better using OS 5.

You can always downgrade to OS 5. Here is a link.

Latest OS: 9700 5.0.0.1655/5.0.0.1014 (East Asia + English)

Loading that OS should fix your problem. Unless it is a hardware failure.

you are not understanding what im saying!!!!! yes im annoyed with the memory leak but im TRYING TO UPGRADE MY OS and it not happening!!!! i dont know y....cuz ive don everything im suposed to, but when i reach where they say "finish" and i click for the upgrade to start... i INSTANTLY get a command saying upgrade successful......but i knw ot cant upgrade in d space of seconds but i still check but it never upgrade......so as u cant c my problem is trying to upgrade or downgarde....which ever one bt its not happening

Delete all other versions of any OS you have except the one that you want to install.

Make sure only the OS you want to install on your device, is installed on your computer. I guess you are using apploader.exe to upgrade? Yes, you did mention in your first post that you tried to upgrade and your device was acting the same, but you didn't mention that once you clicked update, nothing happened.

Do you have the DM (Desktop Manager) installed?

To make it easier to upgrade, Digicel has some excellent OS builds on their site.

ok well i had desktop manager installed until i delete EVERYTHING concerning blackberry from my computer! so i delete all other os that was installed as well...yes i am using apploader.exe! by chance coudl it be because im running microsoft windows XP professional
