I've searched and searched. I've found hundreds of people asking, and no answers.

Under Application Memory, what it the "Other" category?

Mine is 260mb, and leaving me with very little free space, which my memory leaks quickly eat down to 0mb a few times a day on my 9900.

Hoping someone actually knows what this is.

Where are you seeing other? I'm looking at Options > Application Management>Memory and I don't see Other.

Also please update your profile to the correct model and OS version.

Under "Application Storage", the memory usage is broken down by:

System (grey) 250mb
Applications (blue) 30mb
Other (yellow) 260mb
Free (offwhite) 5mb

I would guess other is settings and database contents; user data in contacts, calendar, notes, and so forth; browser cache, history and so forth; user data associated with applications; and whatever else is not OS or application modules.

In my case for 9900/7.1.0.284 at the moment:

System 254.3 MB
Applications 56.6 MB
Other 69.0 MB
Free 163.9 MB

Do you keep a lot of messages on your device? Media files (pictures, downloaded ringtones) in main memory?
