Ok very new user. My company gave us new 7130e's a few days ago and they are great except for one small thing. Everytime I try and install 3rd party software I get an error stating that it can't find any software compatible with my device to install. When I run the desktop manager and go to Application Uploader it says I don't have system software installed. Strange since my device works great except for that pesky installation issue. I can send and receive email, pins, sms, etc.

Any suggestions on how I get around this ? It is running through a company BES.

First thing to do is to download the Handheld OS Software for the 7130 from the Verizon web site. Download and execute it.

When you start Desktop Manager, it will no longer say there is no system software found.

After that, you should be able to load programs written for the 7130.

There are policies that can be put in place on the BES to disallow the installation of third party software. Your description doesn't sound like that is the cause of your problem, but it wouldn't hurt to check and see if you are allowed to install software.

I have installed the 4.1 upgrade and now my locks up whenever I attempt to look at the address book, calendar or anything else. I keep getting overflow errors.

Search for a program called Javaloader and download it. Execute it.
Open a DOS prompt and type

javaloader -usb wipe

Then restart Desktop Manager and it should reload the handheld OS.

gpo to www.blackberry.com in the downloads section and check that you have the latest version of Desktop.
