Hi all,

New to this so grateful for any advice. My son would like a BB and is looking at the 9300 or 9320. He wants one for keeping in touch with his friends both in France where we live and friends in the UK.

My questions are;

1 - Is BBIM free between BBs in France (on French networks)?
2 - Is it still free between France and the UK (I suspect not)?
3 - He was going to have a PAYG tariff but would the data charges be too much if it's charged for IM to the UK?
4 - Is BBIM free between any parts of the world if using wi-fi?

Thank you in advance,

Default Re: Instant Messenger Service

I assume by BBIM you mean BBM - Blackberry Messenger.

BBM is free no matter you send it, but you must have a Blackberry data plan or bolt-on for it to work. You need to talk to your carrier about rates and what is included. They are all different.
