Default Browser problems

Please Login to Remove!

First of all I apologize for this really fundamental question but I am extremely new to BB and in need of help. I am not really quite sure how t access the browser on my BB 7290. I don't know if I need to get an application or what but I can't find it. Next, if and when i am able to get a browser is it possible to tap into my home wireless network to view pages on the net, or do I have to pay my service provider for the service of downloading things like ringtones.

Thanks,
CC

Is you Blackberry activated with a data provider?

Many times you won't see the icon for the Internet browser until your device has been activated and is registered on the network.

No, the Blackberry does not have Wifi. You need to have a data plan with a provider in order to access the internet.

OK im a Newbie aswell when it comes to blackberrys.. and I am just now learning everything. I have only had mine about 1 week now, and have the smae kinda question.

I have my service threw Cingular and I have a 7290.
I have not changed my Data plan (doing this in the next day or so) yet to a BB data plan I still have the media-works package that I had with my V3 Razor. I have no broswer Icons either, So my basic question is when I actvate my BB data plan/service will this Icon show up? It shows under the Applications that it has the Browser, WTLS,SSL/TLS security, and Java 4.0 what ever all that mumbojumbo is.. so I gess it is up to date as far as I know.. and what exactly is a PIN message, I know my # and a couple friends #'s. Some one told me it is a peer to peer message, but what is the diff. from a PIN and a SMS message?.. I cant send these (pin) either so possibly with the new data plan I will be able to..?.. and can you get MSN and Yahoo messanger aps to download to the phone? and as far as email, do i need to get a blackberry/cingular email address and POP3 all my other emails to this address?..

Sorry for the small novel, and/or tread hi-jacking there is just to much stuff to learn and read about these things to comprehend in a week and one site says one way to do somthing and another site will say somthing totallllllly diffrent.. ..

Thanks..

Just a bit of advice here, as both these questions have been asked and answered many times. Search and ye shall find. Also, read the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum.

For the first, once you plan is activated, you will get your browser icons.
Second question, Pin to Pin uses the BB network therefore data instead of the Phone network like SMS uses.

Remember, Search is Your Friend!
Hope this helps.

The CSR was right, As I understand it, with prepaid plans you can't add anything. BBs become a phone and very limited PDA in this case.

Sorry, I think you're out of luck.
