I need to find the model of a Blackberry, but I only know the PIN Number.

I know is easier if I ask.. But I cant. I want to know in order to send a case without asking her the model..

There is no order to PIN numbers, nor is there a central data base outside RIM. A PIN is random by design. Asking the owner is the only way to find his model.

That is not true. I know by fact. That the pin number as the imei defines the model.
Perhaps someone elae could help. Please dont answer back just to say the same.

The rest of us know you can't find the model from the PIN or IMEI, but you appear to know differently.

IMEI is not the same as a BlackBerry device PIN.

The only PIN you can read to identify the model is the p9981 which starts with 2AA for all the Porsche design models.

Whether you text or not, doesn't change the facts

You do know that the PIN and IMEI are completely different things, right? BlackBerrys have both a PIN and IMEI. So as for your original question, please show me where a PIN can identify the device model.

When somebody sends you a PIN message you naturally see the PIN. The IMEI is not transmitted to you in any form you can recover. But hey, what do I know?

I just asked because I knew that with the IMEI we can get the model.. And I am sure that RIM can also know this with the PIN..
